Deadwood

Funny game. Even funnier if you actually read the movie titles and scene names out loud. The premise is pretty simple, you're a second rate actor trying to make a few bucks. Sounds depressing right? But what would Hollywood be without its scores of B rated thespians? After all… someone has to pour the coffee.

Each player, represented by a single six sided die, wanders the movie lot trying to pick up roles. But what roles should a semi-talented person like yourself take. The starring role, that won't pay off until the movie raps (which could take a while) or a supporting role that pays a lot more often but as you may have guessed it, a lot less. You also have the option of spending your hard earned dollars on acting lessons that will increase your talent and allow you to take on the really big and better paying roles.

As the entire goal is to have the most money socked away at the end of four days, it's a constant battle over whether you should shoot for the stars and take the role of "Hunky, Handsome Space Ranger" or just be happy playing the loveable, yet easily forgotten, "Man Who Fell Off Horse" role.

From the box:

There are two types of actors in this world. There are those who act because they can, and those who do it because they can do nothing else.

You're the third kind: you act in spite of the fact that you can't. The world's worst variety of hack, talentless yet illogically persistent.

And you seem to live at Deadwood Studios, a Western-a-Week schlock movie house with no illusions about their role in the business. Budget, Script, Quality, and Originality. Who needs 'em? Deadwooders can make movies day and night. It's the perfect place to do that thing you call "work."
