from gamers.com review
At first glance, Wiz-War seems exceedingly simple. Each player is a wizard.
Each wizard starts on the center square of his section of the board, a maze
of stone walls and doorways. Each wizard has two treasure chests he must defend
from the other wizards, who each want to steal two other treasures.
At that point, the simplicity ends and the war begins. Spells erupt as soon as legal targets are found, unleashing lightning bolts, ghosts, walls of stone or water, and a wide variety of other attacking and blocking spells. Reflect an opponent's spell back at him, or warp space to rotate the board section, changing the entry points and slowing enemies down. Get a few of the magic stones for continuous bonuses, or the Wizard Blade to do some truly wicked damage to whatever gets in your way. Spells can aid your movement, too, or hinder that of others. Some wizards skip the treasure grabbing and go straight for the kill, hoping to elimate his enemies the old fashioned way.
A time-tested classic, Wiz-War
has been reprinted six times, and is being prepared for its eighth incarnation!
The system is easy to learn, and has limitless variety added to it by special
rules on spell cards.
